Jackie Salas, Landscape Supervisor and Horticulturist
SPECIAL THURSDAY EVENING MEETING at FAIRYLAND
At our special evening meeting at Fairyland, we will hear from Jackie Salas. Trained with an undergraduate degree in Environmental Horticulture and Urban Forestry from UC Davis, and a master’s degree in Public Horticulture from the University of Delaware’s Longwood Graduate Program, Jackie has managed landscapes in public and private gardens for nearly 10 years. Jackie joined Children’s Fairyland, America’s first storybook themed amusement park for children, in 2011. As Landscape Supervisor and Horticulturist she manages the park’s 8 acres of ornamental grounds, from turf and decorative groundcovers to 100 ft. Redwood trees in a sustainable manner using IPM principles. She also develops and manages educational gardening programs for regional pre-kindergarten through second grade classrooms.
