Information

The
Complimentary Lunch Ticket Program
You
can get one complimentary lunch ticket when you bring a prospective new member
to a Rotary lunch meeting. Limited to one lunch, one time. Here's how:
-
Call
or email the office in advance if possible, but don't let that stop you!
You can always pick up your ticket from the Executive Director.
-
Get
a business card from your prospective member. Put YOUR name on the back,
and turn it in to the office, or leave it with the ticket sales desk.
-
Utilize
the handy literature rack to supply your prospect with a brochure, committee
listings, and other interesting Rotary info. It is on the table to your
left when you enter the California Ballroom from the outside stairs.
You
can expect a follow-up call from the Membership Committee to discuss what
the next step, if any, should be. (Remember - we do not want to be either
coy and exclusive, or arm-twisting. Our job is to provide information, and
see if Rotary is a good fit for the prospective member, and visa versa.)

information can I give to my prospective member?

Exactly
what are dues and fees these days?
One
time initiation fee - $300
Dues
and ORE Annual Contribution for one year - $590
These
dues are pro-rated, so no one is every invoiced for the entire year at once.
Some new members elect to break the amount into smaller pieces. (Ask your
prospective member if he or she would like a call from the Executive Director
to discuss creative ways to pay.)
If
someone wants to join, then what?
- Complete
the Proposal/Application form and fax it to the office at 510-451-2121.
- After
about one week, your Applicant's information will be posted in the Liveoak.
If no one makes an objection in writing to the Board of Directors after
5 days, your prospective member will receive three things - a letter of
welcome from the president, an invoice for pro-rata dues and inition fee,
and a check list of what they will need to do next.
- When
the check is received in the office, you will receive a call asking you
to contact your prospective member and find a Thursday when you will both
be available to sit at the head table for Induction.
- Let
the office know of the date you have picked, and review your role as the
Introducer. (In brief, be brief.)
- Plan
to attend the New Member Orientation meeting with your new member as soon
as possible. New Member Orientation is held on the 4th Wednesday of month,
at noon in the Rotary office. Don't forget the security code for the door.
