Peter Sherris, a cardiologist and internist, practiced medicine for 34 years at Kaiser Permanente. He held several administrative positions to improve the quality of and access to care. He began volunteering with Tiba Foundation in Western Kenya in 2005. In 2008, he retired to pursue global health full time, earning a Masters of Public Health at UC Berkeley in 2009. Peter joined Oakland Rotary in 2009 and has sponsored multiple health related global grants in Africa and Central and South America. He chairs the club’s KinderPrep Committee, which supports 1,000 transitional kindergarten and kindergarten public school students in 45 classrooms.
