Redwood Regional Park
Hike with the President
On Sunday, July 29, 8:30 a.m. join us for a hike in Redwood Regional Park. We will meet in the Canyon Meadow Staging Area. Enter the park at Redwood Gate on Redwood Road, approximately 2 miles east of Skyline Blvd. There is a $5.00 parking fee. Dogs, on leash are welcome on both trails. We will hike the East Ridge Trail to Skyline Gate, after a break, we will descend on the beautiful Stream Trail through redwood groves. The trail returns us to the Canyon Meadow Staging Area and parking lot. The hike is 5.5 to 6.0 miles, with approximately 1000 feet of elevation gain. The last half of the hike is all downhill! Near the staging area there is a wonderful playground and good areas for small hikes for little ones. If you have little ones and are not up for the big hike,
Come to the playground and picnic area and we will look forward to sharing a bit of time with you after the hike. We will have fruit to snack on after the hike. You may also consider bringing a picnic to enjoy after the hike.
For the trail, bring a snack, water and sunscreen. Sun on the early part of the hike, shade on the second half. Also, check the weather and bring appropriate layers.
