Pickleball Session 1
Pickleball, the fastest growing sport in the country, is a fun game for all ages. A cross between tennis and ping pong, it is played on a court 1/4 the size of a tennis court, with a slightly lower net, using a solid paddle and a hard plastic wiffle-type ball. A few fathers with bored kids invented the game in the 60s. It is good exercise, but not strenuous, and it is easy to learn.
Come try it out. Sign up for one of the two back-to-back two-hour sessions (10 am to noon or noon to 2 pm). Each session limited to 16 participants. Darlene Vendegna, the local USA Pickleball Association ambassador, will lead the sessions, teaching you the basics and having you game-ready within 20 to 30 minutes. She will provide all needed equipment. Participants should wear tennis or other athletic shoes. Come prepared to pay Darlene the clinic fee of $10 – by cash, Venmo (@darlene-vendegna) or Zelle (510-520-9440 or Darlene Vendegna).
