Civic Thursday Meeting ( ZOOM ONLY ) - Hon. Aisha Wahab - Future of Afghans in America | 09-02-2021

Along with the rest of the world, we at Oakland No. 3 have just witnessed in real time: the end of the 20-year U.S.-Afghan war; the triumph of the Taliban, and the evacuation of $100,000+ Americans and Afghans from Kabul.  Cable-news talking heads are now in non-stop rationalization, justification and criticism mode.  Our speaker this week is the Honorable Aisha Wahab, a member of the Hayward City Council -- and the first ever Afghan-American to have been elected to electoral office.  She has deep ties to the Afghan community of the East Bay, and will offer her insights into Afghanistan's future challenges and the Afghan-American communities opportunities.
