Enterprise Institute

Each Spring since 1982 the Enterprise Institute – a three-day retreat – has taken place in a dormitory style camp in Aptos, just south of Santa Cruz.  We sponsor high school juniors from Oakland schools to work in leadership teams to expand their networks and explore education and career options after high school. Participants learn the benefits and the challenges of American business, as they team up to create and operate a company.  Participants work on marketing concepts, business strategies, communication skills, and networking, which is facilitated by returning high school seniors who serve as Peer Counselors, and support from Rotary business and community leaders.
