Meet Our New Members
Faye Brandin - Inducted March 6th

Faye is a Senior Project Manager for Signature Development Group. She cut her teeth on real estate projects as an Americorps volunteer in New York and gained more expertise in Oakland when working with President-Elect Joe Goralka. She is also a top flight skier and former member of the Hayward Rotary Club.
Charlene Wang - Inducted January 30th

Charlene was raised in West Oakland with her Grandmother, Jenny. She now lives in the Eastlake/San Antonio Neighborhood with her dog Galvi. She graduated from Columbia University, with a degree in Environmental Engineering. She received her Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University. She currently works as an Advisor at the US Environmental Protection Agency on Environmental Justice & Civil Rights. Charlene played the violin with the Oakland Youth Orchestra. And she still has her violin. She is a licensed bartender. Oakland Rotary can put this skill to good use.
Vera Hammush - Inducted Janurary 9th

Vera Hannush is sponsored by President Shannon. Vera is the Director of Philanthropy for the Alameda Health System Foundation. The Club just awarded this Foundation a grant for $ 6,250 that will be used for their SAART program, which addresses sexual assault and domestic violence. Vera has a Master's Degree from UC Berkeley in Latin and enjoys Armenian dancing.
Bob Harris - Inducted April 3rd

Bob is the first lawyer from the West Coast to be President of the National Bar Association. He is the only lawyer from PG&E to argue a case before the U. S. Supreme Court and win. He also has served on the Oakland Port Commission.
Jim Morris - Inducted April 3rd

Jim is the First Vice President at the Amalgamated Bank. He is an Oakland native and father of three children, ages 25 to 35. He is a former cyclist and bicycle racer. At the age of 14, he and a buddy bicycled from Moraga to Yosemite Valley!
Kim Olson - Inducted May 1st

Kim is the Advocacy Director for SOS Meals on Wheels in San Leandro. One of her goals is to run one half-marathon in every state. Her ninth half-marathon will take place on May 4th. Kim has degrees in theater arts and accounting, an unusual academic combination.
Dayana Medevsky - Inducted March 6th

Dayana is a Financial Advisor for Merrill Lynch. She is a self-taught pianist and electronic musician. She is a big-time comic book fan and collector.
Michele Himmelberg - Inducted March 6th

Michele is not only a new member, but is member Casey Farmers mother and was an Oakland Rotary guest speaker. She was a hula hoop champion as a child and participated in basketball and crew in college.
Alexandria Medina - Inducted April 17th

Alexandria " Ali" is the CEO of the Oakland Public Education Fund, where she has served the past five years after previously serving in a variety of important education positions at East Bay agencies. She is a UC Berkeley graduate and also a diehard Dodgers fan, which Rotarians promise not to hold against her. Interesting fact: Ali once won a car at Disneyland at the age of 12—was she old enough to drive?
John Mascali - Inducted April 17th

John is the CEO of the Oakland Boys and Girls Club. One of his two interesting facts is that John grew up in a family that owned an African safari tour company, for photographers not hunters, so he has traveled extensively in that part of the world—even gorilla trekking! The other interesting fact is that John met his wife while they both volunteered at a Ronald McDonald House for families with sick children. John has an affinity for fast food and he and his wife continued the connection for 20 years as Burger King franchisees in Oakland and the East Bay.
Bob Muldoon - Inducted April 3rd

Bob is a Stragetic Energy Management Coach for CLEAResults. v Bob Muldoon moved to the Bay Area during the pandemic and decided to stay. Coming from the East Coast, he is a big Yankees fan but we won’t hold that against him.
