LUNCHEON SPEAKER - Noel Dybdal, Veterinary Care in Disasters

Thursday, April 18th, 2019 - 12:10pm to 1:30pm

Dr. Noel Dybdal will speak on how catstrophic wildland-urban interface fires are occurring with increasing frequency in California, with devestating impact on both human and animal life. A Regional coordintaor in the California Veterminary Medical Reserve Corp, Noel is one of 2000-plus California veterinary professionals who have volunteered to respond and provide needed veterinary care during disasters. She will share lessons learned from the 1991 Oakland hills fire and experiences from the recent California wildfires. Noel has her BS in Animal Physiology, MA in Endocrinology, and DVM and PhD from UC Davis, where she also completed internship and residency trainining.  She is a dipolmate in the American Collee of Veterinary Pathology and Principal Scientist and Head of Safety Assessment at Genentech in South San Francisco. Noel lives in Davis with her husband and five adopted rescue dogs, three cats and three horses.
