Leadership Opportunities

We are Oakland’s leaders in business, government, nonprofits and academia. We converse, share ideas and take action.

This is where business meets community service. Oakland Rotary regularly brings together a large and diverse group of civic, business, and professional leaders with an interest in service, networking and fellowship.

Volunteer and Community Service Opportunities

We live our motto of “service above self” with impactful community involvement – both locally and internationally. We build friendships as we serve together.

Oakland Rotary’s Community Service Committee provides a limited number of small grants to non-profit organizations who are working to benefit the Oakland community. Recent grant recipients include: Girls Scouts Camp CEO, Project Pride, Food Shift, and Elizabeth House.

Networking Opportunities

Our Club activities and projects provide many opportunities to build our local networks.  Through our travels and service, we also have the chance to connect with Rotarians in over 200 countries and geographic areas.

Seven times larger than the average Rotary Club, Oakland has almost 300 members, and all are local business, government,  nonprofit and professional leaders who care deeply about the Oakland community.

Fellowship Opportunities

We are a social bunch. We enjoy informal happy hours, dinners at local restaurants, tailgates at sports games, symphony concerts, outdoor adventures and much more.

Speaker Program

We constantly learn from our inspiring speakers – government leaders, business executives, nationally recognized writers, academic experts, and community organizers.

To learn more, visit our Speakers page for a list of past and upcoming speakers at our Thursday meetings, or visit our Speakers Committee page for more information.
