THURSDAY LUNCHEON SPEAKER - David Muhammad, Criminal Justice Reform

Thursday, February 20th, 2020 - 12:10pm to 1:30pm

David Muhammad, Executive Director of the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform, will speak on Oakland's violence reduction strategy, including its Ceasefire program, and the connection between violence reduction and criminal justice reform.  Mr. Muhammad, the former Chief Probation Officer of the Alameda County Probation Department, has a long history working on justice reform initiatives throughout the country, including extensive engagement with Los Angeles County Probation and several California probation departments.  The federal courts have appointed him as monitor in a number of justice system reform projects throughout the country.
