Civic Thursday Meeting - Terry Smith of the Pollinator Posse
Who doesn't love the Monarch butterfly ? More to the point, what is more vulnerable than a Monarch butterfly ? Monarch populations are plummeting -- from 1.1 million counted in 1997 to 2,000 in 2020 -- the result of climate change, habitat destruction and widespread use of insecticides. Terry Smith is a founder of Pollinator Posse, a non-profit committed to supporting Monarch communities and to mobilizing homo sapiens -- like us -- to save this and other endangered pollinators.
