Register here for the third stage of the "Epic Hike" from Richmond to San Leandro.
Stage 1 was Wildcat Canyon; Stage 2 was Tilden; now Stage 3 through Redwood Regional Park. (The fourth and final stage through Chabot Regional Park will take place in August.)
Meet at 8:30 AM in the parking lot of the Redwood Gate off of Redwood Road.
Six and seven-tenths miles on my favorite East Bay trails.
We will start up the Canyon Trail to the East Ridge Trail; then follow the East Ridge Trail to the Skyline Gate at the east end of Redwood Park. From there we will following the West Ridge Trail to the French Trail, then down the lush Stream Trail back to our trailhead.
Bring your own snacks, lunch and hiking poles. And $5.00 cash to pay the ranger.
Directions from Oakland:
Highway 580 southbound; exit at 35th Avenue; turn left onto 35th Avenue and proceed in the direction of the Oakland Hills. 35th Ave. will become Redwood Road; continue on Redwood Road across Skyline Blvd., and then descend on Redwood Road to the regional park entrance on your left. If the parking lots are full, park along Redwood Road at the park entrance; or ….
Highway 13 southbound; exit at Redwood Road; turn onto Redwood Road and proceed in the direction of the Oakland Hills. Continue on Redwood Road across Skyline Blvd., and then descend on Redwood Road to the regional park entrance on your left. If the parking lots are full, park along Redwood Road at the park entrance.
