President Ces Butner called the 5,336th Civic Thursday meeting of the Oakland Rotary Club to order at 12:31 p.m. As the 3rd oldest club with over 300 men and women members, we have been meeting for over 111 years.
Rotarian Jesse Schmidt shared the thought of the day by describing the 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins and a quote from the psychologist and author of Man's Search for Meaning 'Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.'
Rotarian and President of Oakland Rotary Endowment, Mike Mowery shared an update on the funding received to the committee and several beneficiaries of ORE.
Past president and speakers committee chair David Stein introduced this week's speaker Former National Security Advisor, H.R. McMaster. He spoke about “American Foreign Policy & The Key Threats facing America”.
